Dealing with Phone Solicitors

I’ve been on the “Do not call list” for years but it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference, I still get 3 or 4 calls every day and sometimes I get them very early or even late in the evening.
It used to really make me mad but now I have a way of getting even with these solicitors.
I turn the table on them and try and waste their time which I hope will cost them money and maybe they will stop calling me!

If I have the time when one of them calls me, I answer the call and pretend to be very interested in what their selling. I ask questions and let them ask questions and I try to keep them on the phone without committing to anything.
When I sense that they want to close the sale, I ask them to hang on a sec while I get the dog in from the yard. I put the phone down so they can hear me and call my dog.
When Max comes running to me I start petting him and talking to him in the most disgusting “Baby Talk” I can muster up. I keep this going for 5 or sometimes 10 minutes.
Max loves it and I can only imagine what the person on the other end of the phone is thinking.
After 5 or 10 minutes I pick the phone back up and most have hung up on me by then.
If by some miracle they are still on the phone, I tell them I’m not interested and ask to be removed from their list and hang up.
I usually do not get a return call from these companies and the ones who do call back I block.

I’d love to know if anyone else has creative ways of dealing with solicitors.
